Calling all trivia buffs! You may school your friends in every random fact from pop culture to World War II, but how much do you know about the history of trivia itself?

Filmmmaker Jeremiah Warren created this animated video that explores the trivia behind trivia.

The origins of "trivium" might have represented insignificance, because the facts were of interest to a select few, but with so many trivia nights, board games and even apps, it's safe to say the random factoids are more significant today.
